ABOUT FOOD
FOR HOPE
Serving Love, Connecting Hearts
Bringing Hope Beyond Food
BEGINNING.

Food For Hope originated as a food distribution project by Ascending Hope Community Services Ltd in 2019, dedicated to visiting senior residents in rental flats and distributing food donated by Whampoa Community Centre. One of our inaugural initiatives, the 'We Care and Share Programme,' involved bread distribution to seniors in Whampoa through a collaborative effort with Whampoa Community Centre.
Food For Hope dedicated volunteers sort, pack, distribute food packs and non-perishable items for seniors and needy families. In addition to delivering essential items, they actively engage in conversations with beneficiaries during deliveries. Beyond the distribution of items, these interactions contribute to fostering a sense of community and care especially for seniors who live alone.
With the support of community partners, donors, sponsors and volunteers, we have expanded our service areas to benefit residents in Toa Payoh and Bishan.
CHAT & CHECK.
There are elderly residents who live alone, have limited human interactions, physical disabilities or other challenges. Food For Hope goes the extra mile by befriending residents that we served. Serving a meal provides the connection and the opportunity to check on them and chat with them. This interaction, is the purpose of our work, serving hope and enliven lives.
Community
We aim to touch lives with warmth and care through food and necessities distribution. We strive to achieve greater impact and sustainable outcomes beyond the provision of essentials. By fostering communities of givers and carers to create support networks, we can expand our reach to benefit more people.
Conversations
Conversations are at the heart of Food
For Hope’s mission, acknowledging the profound impact of human connections on emotional well-being. Our volunteers go beyond deliveries to doorsteps; they actively engage in heartfelt conversations during lunch visits, providing a supportive presence and a compassionate listening ear.
Connections
Connections is key in our work; they become a source of comfort and hope. Through Food For Hope Makan Circles, we shared stories, laughter, and life experiences. We aim to bring a sense of companionship and reassurance to the elderly, affirming that they are valued and never alone.
