7 Oct 2025 Distribution - SG60 Food For Hope with Vitamax

Thanks to our donors for their very kind support towards our SG60 Food For Hope Vitamax campaign, we are pleased to share some photos of our 7 Oct distribution... Where Vitamax fulfilled their pledge for 40 packets of cereal, based on $800 of funds raised at that date.

We'd like to also share with you two stories. Two journeys from isolation to purpose. Both representing the resilience of Singapore’s pioneer generation.

Mr Lai’s Journey: At 58, after two devastating car accidents left him with mobility issues and vocal damage, abandoned by family and battling suicidal thoughts, he felt “too young to live a life of helplessness.”

Today, he helps distribute food packages, telling us: “You are all so good – but people don’t praise you because you do everything quietly from the heart.”

Auntie Joanne’s Journey: After 30 years in Whampoa, working as a kitchen helper and seamstress, she watched neighbours move away until life felt “stagnant and lonely.”

Today, she radiates joy: “This is the happiest time of my life here. The volunteers bring so much warmth, joy, and genuine care.”

This month’s “Back in Time Bites” celebrates pioneers like Mr Lai and Auntie Joanne – the generation that built Singapore through quiet dedication, who deserve to rediscover purpose and joy in their golden years.

Thanks to the kind support of donors and Vitamax’s partnership, both Mr Lai and Aunite Joanne receive more than just food rations. They get:

  • Nutrition that’s easy to prepare when physical challenges arise

  • The dignity of independence (they can make their cereal exactly how they like it)

  • Most importantly, the knowledge that their community hasn’t forgotten them

Here’s what moves me about our Vitamax partnership:

They understand that caring for our pioneers request both respect and practicality. As they told us, “We believe every Singaporean has a role in caring for our vulnerable seniors. Now it’s our turn as a community to build their golden years with ours.”

Could you please help us share this campaign with 2 or 3 family or friends for November? Here's how their donations will honour our pioneers:

ree
  • $20: Provides complete care for 1 pioneer (food + essentials + Vitamax cereal)

  • $40: Honours 2 pioneers with dignity and nutrition

  • $100: Shows gratitude to 5 pioneers who built our nation

  • $200: Ensures 10 pioneers feel valued and cared for

Mr Lai said something beautiful: “You could choose to enjoy your own comfort, but instead, you spend your time helping others – even with the dirtiest chores. That’s because you truly care.”

Auntie Joanne adds: “I feel so cared for – especially when they check in on my eye condition and ask if the food provided suits my needs. It feels like being treated not just as a resident, but like family.”

That’s caring – that's you. Your donations create the family connection that transforms despair into purpose. Loneliness into happiness.

Today, will you please help to share our campaign with 2 or 3 family or friends to join you in supporting our seniors?
